The primary language of New Zealand is English but the native population speaks Maori.

 

Education is strongly emphasized and a large population gets a higher education. Education for the primary and secondary schools is compulsory.

 

Most Kiwis are Christian, however the native Maori practice their own religion.

 

New Zealand is westernized and have similar customs to America. Rugby is a big part of their culture and the most popular team is the All Blacks who partake in a Maori ritual called the Haka. Rugby is critical to New Zealand's tourism industry.
